News and Notes: Guardians May Have Been Interested in Gleyber Torres

The Guardians apparently showed interest in Gleyber Torres before he signed with the Tigers. Personally, I'm not a Torres fan as a hitter or defender, but he always seemed to hit Cleveland well. I'm glad this one didn't work out.
It seems to indicate the Guardians are still seeking at least marginal upgrades. MLBTradeRumors suggest the Guardians may turn to Jorge Polanco next. I request no Alex Verdugo, please, in terms of marginal upgrades still out there (for other positions).
Tom Withers who covered Cleveland sports teams for the AP retired yesterday. I always enjoyed his columns and will miss him. Enjoy retirement, Tom.
