FanPost Friday: Favorite pitcher debuts
There’s just something about your first time
Hello and welcome back to FanPost Friday! The baseball season continues unabated. Last night, once-heralded pitching prospect Kumar Rocker made his MLB debut versus the Mariners after an injury-delayed journey through the minors. He is the first MLB starting pitcher of Indian descent and struck out 7 batters in his debut.

As Mariners fans we’ve been blessed to witness many pitching phenoms make their MLB debuts. Several of them are currently in the pitching rotation, in fact. From Félix to Michael Pineda, Taijuan Walker to James Paxton, there have been some notable aces from the last 15 years especially!
So, we’ll keep it short this week and just get to the prompt:
Tell us about your favorite pitcher debuts
It doesn’t have to be a Mariners pitcher, but I’m guessing we’ll have more people who personally watched those debuts than others. Bonus points if you were there in person! Special shoutout to the oLLd heads who watched Félix’s debut in 2005 (he was 19!) on a crappy stream with no sound because that game wasn’t fully televised for some reason.
