Burnes Gives Up Two Homeruns In Loss
The Baltimore Orioles fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-4 on Wednesday night. Fielding errors by Ramon Urias (2 for 3, 2B, R, 2 RBI, HBP) in the third inning and Gunnar Henderson (0 for 4) in the fifth factored greatly in the loss.
Starter Corbin Burnes (12-7) suffered his third loss in a row. Burnes allowed 6 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits (2 HR) and struck out 4 over 5.0 innings, throwing 94 pitches (63 strikes) in the process. In five starts in August, Burnes has a 7.36 ERA (28 runs, 21 earned over 25.2 innings). This was the second game this month where Burnes was tagged for multiple homeruns. Three relievers combined to pitch 3.0 clean innings but the offense couldn’t take advantage.
