Columbus Clippers 6, Indianapolis Indians 3

The middle of Columbus’ lineup continues to hit well. Johnathan Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a home run, Gabriel Arias went 2-for-4 with a home run and George Valera went 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk. It was Valera’s fourth home run this series against Indianapolis.

Raynel Delgado also had a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with a walk. Angel Martinez and Juan Brito both doubled.

Starting pitcher Ryan Webb was rock solid. He allowed one run on five hits in five innings pitched. He struck out two and didn’t walk anyone. Since being promoted to Triple-A, Webb sports a spectacular 1.13 ERA.

Tanner Burns allowed one run in a pair of innings. Andrew Walters added a scoreless inning of relief.

Akron RubberDucks 4, Harrisburg Senators 3

Tied 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Akron walked Harrisburg off. Dayan Frias tripled with one out, then Guy Lipscomb won the game with a line drive single.

Frias had the best game of any RubberDuck, going 2-for-4 with the triple. Yordys Valdes added another triple to account for Akron’s extra base hits.

Aaron Bracho went 1-for-3 with a hit by pitch to reach base safely twice. Tyresse Turner singled and stole a base.

Starting pitcher Austin Peterson had a quality start, allowing three runs on six hits in six innings. He struck out seven and walked two.

Bradley Hanner added a pair of scoreless frames and Alaska Abney earned the win with a scoreless ninth inning.

Lake County Captains 4, West Michigan Whitecaps 3

Jorge Burgos went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Angel Genao went 2-for-4 with a double and Jonah Advincula went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Ralphy Velasquez reached base safely twice, going 1-for-4 with a walk.

Starting pitcher Carter Spivey lasted just 2.2 innings, allowing one run but he had four walks.

Zach Jacobs rose to the occasion in long relief, tossing 4 13 scoreless, hitless innings with one strikeout and a walk to earn the win.

Lynchburg Hillcats 3, Salem Red Sox 0

It was an ugly game for all offense, as Lynchburg managed just three hits and went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position.

Guardians 2024 11th round draft pick Garrett Howe reached base safely twice, walking twice. Luis Merejo singled and was hit by a pitch.

In the ninth inning and the scored tied 0-0, Lynchburg got lucky, with four consecutive batters reaching base on a single, a walk and two hit by pitches, including an RBI HBP by Logun Clark. Juan Benjamin then reached on a fielder’s choice with a throwing error that allowed Merejo to score and Howe scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-0.

Starting pitcher Kyle Scott had the best performance of his career, tossing six shutout innings of one-hit ball with five strikeouts and no walks.

Guardians 2024 19th round pick Cam Schuelke added two scoreless innings with four strikeouts and Reny Artiles struck out the side to earn his fifth save.
