The Phillies dealt from their major-league roster in the days leading up to Tuesday’s Major League Baseball trade deadline, sending a trio of now former Philadelphia players to the Orioles in Serathony Domínguez, Cristian Pache and Gregory Soto in two separate transactions.

They’ll join right-hander Zach Eflin, himself a former Phillie as well, who was traded to Baltimore by the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday. Eflin is part of a list of five players who spent time in Philadelphia prior to this season to get traded at the 2024 deadline.

Here’s a breakdown of those former Phillies who were included in trades in late July:

RHP Zach Eflin to Orioles from Rays

The Rays traded Eflin and cash considerations to Baltimore in exchange for three minor-league prospects. Eflin, a Phillies starter from 2016 to 2022 with a brief relief stint at the end, will bolster an Orioles rotation that needed help as the talented young team aims for a postseason run. The right-hander allowed three runs in six innings on Monday night in his first start for his new team, bringing his season ERA to 4.11 in 20 starts.

RHP Michael Lorenzen to Royals from Rangers

Philadelphia’s main deadline acquisition last year, Lorenzen tossed a no-hitter in his first home start as a Phillie before settling into a swingman role. He signed a one-year deal in Texas for 2024 and will now head to a Royals team currently in position to crack the American League playoff picture after a trade for left-hander Walter Pennington on Monday. Lorenzen has a 3.81 ERA in 19 outings, 18 of which have been starts.

RHP Mark Leiter Jr. to Yankees from Cubs

A mostly unsuccessful starter and long reliever for the Phillies in 2017 and part of 2018, Leiter had found his role as a full-time bullpen arm in Chicago over the past three seasons. He was traded to New York on deadline day for two prospects, then made his Yankees debut later that night to help defeat the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in 12 innings on Tuesday. Leiter has a 4.10 ERA in 40 appearances this year with big strikeout stuff.

RHP Luis García to Red Sox from Angels

A reliever for the Phillies from 2013 to 2018 with varying results, the hard-throwing García has had a solid 2024 campaign with a 3.71 ERA in 45 outings. Boston gave up four prospects for the righty on Tuesday as the Red Sox compete for a wild-card spot in the American League.

RHP Enyel De Los Santos to Yankees from Padres

De Los Santos pitched parts of three seasons in Philly in 2018, 2019 and 2021, but ultimately found his footing as a reliever in Cleveland with two successful years in 2022 and 2023. He’s posted a 4.46 ERA in 44 appearances this season and will join Leiter and company after the Yankees traded an outfield prospect for De Los Santos and minor-league pitcher Thomas Balboni Jr.
