In which the Mariners make a tough decision at first base, and Atlanta needs help all over the place.

Vive.

In Mariners news...

  • The Mariners have placed Ty France on irrevocable outright waivers, first reported by Ryan Divish, a process less common and more complicated than the usual DFA. Divish would later give more details about the move and how the waiver process differs from a standard DFA, including that at least until France is either claimed or clears waivers, he will remain on the roster. Additionally, Divish is reporting that instead of the expected Tyler Locklear as the would-be replacement for France internally, Jason Vosler would be first to slot into that role this time around.

For a happy jog down memory lane of the good times with France, Twitter (formally X) user Cam shared a video of every home run and walk-off from Ty France as a Mariner.

  • More like Gemerson Hancock, am I right? Allowing nine hits, walking two and striking out three, the Mariners #6 starter nabbed a CGSO in AAA.

  • The recently DFA’d Mike Baumann has now been traded to the Giants.

  • Félix Hernández would like the opportunity to face former teammate and rival Adrian Beltré one more time, and I for one would very much like that as well.

Around the league...

  • Per Passan, Whit Merrifield will find a landing spot in Atlanta.

  • Another avenue Atlanta is seeking reinforcements is through the farm, with it being reported they plan to call up their number five prospect in the organization, Nacho Alvarez Jr.

  • Nick Castellanos hit a home run yesterday, If you know, you know.
