News and Notes: Guardians Return For a Six-Game Homestand
News and Notes for Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024
There were few news and notes for yesterday. Hopefully, the Guardians had a great off-day and come back rested and recharged.
Carlos Collazo offered some interesting comparisons of Travis Bazzana’s and JJ Wetherholt’s batted-ball metrics. Bazzana is a pulled-fly ball guy, checking off another box of things that Cleveland tends to love:

Jose Soriano of the Angels is finding success with a splinker. I’d be very interested in the Guardians prying him away from Los Angeles.
David Fry and Daniel Schneemann showed up on Dan Szymborski’s list of hitters who have most drastically changed their future projections with their performances in 2024 for FanGraphs.
Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan are currently in line to start the All-Star game. So, be sure to go and vote!
The Athletic's Zack Meisel wrote about why July is such an important month for the Guardians.
