Game 73: Let’s Not Lose a Series to the Pirates Edition ™

Go Reds!

Nick Lodolo will try to lead the Cincinnati Reds to the un-possible this evening: namely, a victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the city of Pittsburgh.

Think I’m exaggerating? They haven’t won a game there all year!

Stupid hyperbole aside, it sure would be nice to see the Reds not head into the home of a division rival who’s also been fumbling the bag for the last two decades and immediately lose the series before the final game of it even rolls around. In other words, they need a victory tonight to keep the drive alive for a series victory tomorrow.

It probably goes without saying at this point, but a loss this evening could see the Reds wake up in last place in the division again tomorrow. Gross.

Lodolo will share the rubber with Pirates starter Bailey Falter, with the phrase Bailey falter still fresh in mind in the heads of anyone who watched Reds baseball religiously from 2007 to 2018.

I digress.
