Jordan Baseball Softball Federation joins WBSC family

<p>The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Executive Board approved the affiliation of the Jordan Baseball Softball Federation as a new WBSC member during its meeting on Saturday.</p>

<p>The total number of WBSC members remains at 190 plus 14 Associate Members after the Jordan Softball Union was dismissed.</p>

<p>WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari welcomed the news that a Baseball/Softball governing body was recognised by the Jordan Olympic Committee during his visit to the country earlier this month during the second edition of the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation (THF) <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Hope and Dreams Sports Festival (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/news/baseball5-gives-hope-to-refugee-children-at-azraq-camp-in-jordan" target="_blank">Hope and Dreams Sports Festival</a>.</p>

<p>The WBSC has helped give a boost to baseball/softball development in Jordan with a very successful Baseball5 project at the Azraq Refugee Camp. Head coach Amjad Alatoom celebrated <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/news/baseball5-project-one-year-anniversary-celebrated-at-azraq-refugee-camp-in-jordan" target="_blank">the first anniversary</a> of the Azraq Baseball5 Refugee project on Monday, 1 January 2024. </p>

<p>The second edition of the Open Sports Day recently <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.wbsc.org/en/news/azraq-refugee-camp-90-boys-girls-play-baseball5-at-open-sports-day" target="_blank">involved 90 girls and boys</a> in Baseball5 activity at the Azraq Camp. </p>

<p>After the Hope and Dreams Sports Festival, Fraccari visited the Refugee Camp. "I'm delighted to see what our sport can do. Baseball5 helped children enjoy their lives in difficult circumstances. It is an amazing accomplishment," the WBSC President commented.</p>
