Morning Briefing: Jett Williams Placed On Injured List

0 6

Good morning, Mets fans!

One of the team’s top prospects will be out temporarily. Jett Williams has been placed on the seven-day injured list by the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

Williams, the organization’s No. 1 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, has had an underwhelming start to the season. In 11 games and 39 at-bats, he’s only hitting .179/.360/.308 with two RBIs.

Williams was selected by the Mets 14th overall in the 2022 MLB draft. The infielder established himself as one of the franchise’s elite prospects last season, rising to Double-A after starting the season in Single-A, finishing the season with an OPS of .876 and 45 stolen bases.
