MLB news roundup
Happy Tuesday Athletics Nation!
After a really tough road trip that saw just one win for the club, the team finally returns home to the friendly confines of the Coliseum. A day off on Monday should be extra beneficial to the young club coming off that string of games. Let’s hope the break can help right the ship for the club.
The next series kicks off later today as the team takes on the Colorado Rockies for a 3-game set. Old friend Aaron Brooks is getting the nod for the series starter, taking the ball for his second start of the season. His first went well as he tossed seven strong innings against the Astros while giving the team every chance to win. The squad would love for more of the same from the 34-year old right-hander.
It’s the other side of the coin for the second game as rookie Joey Estes is set for another start. It’ll be the young gun’s fifth career start and third this year. It’s been night and day for his first two games as he pitched well in one and got rocked in the other. We’ll be hoping to see more of the former than the latter in game two.
The team wraps up its series with the Rockies on Thursday, though no starter has been announced as of yet. We’ll see who the team decides on, and it may depend on how the first two games go. We’ll all just have to watch and see!
