Rays 1 Tigers 7: Have we hit bottom yet?

MLB: Detroit Tigers at Tampa Bay Rays
Kim Klement Neitzel-USA TODAY Sports

Friends, I’m sorry. You all deserve a great recap. You deserve to read about the highs and lows, you deserve clips of highlights, and a few droll personal observations.

But I just don’t have it in me tonight.

For the moment, at least, I am so over this team.

I had barely gotten my Bally app booted up when Mark Canha hit a first inning home run. With the Tigers impressive young Tarik Skubal on the mound, I had a strong suspicion that this slender one-run lead was all the Tigers would need.

But just to make sure we wouldn’t remain miserably hopeful, the Tigers followed up in the second with two more runs. Not Littell’s best night!

And of course when your starter is getting hit and your offense has been sputtering, let’s throw in two errors and an unearned run as the chef’s kiss. I don’t even want to dwell on those two Jose Caballero errors, because Caballero is kind of all we’ve got going for us right now, and his home run was the Rays only score.

At least we got to see Austin Meadows little brother Parker. At least Amed Rosario kept up his hitting streak. And Kevin Kelly pitched a clean inning. Anything else to celebrate?
