[Men's Wrestling] Williamson Grapplers Perform Well at Mid East Conference Duals
The Williamson wrestling team took part in the Mid East Conference Duals at the Newtown Athletic Event Center in Newtown PA. The Mechanics went 2-1 on the day with impressive wins against University Maryland College Park WC and Temple University. After falling to eventual tournament champions Rowan, the Mechanics dominated Maryland Terps 45 -9 and the Temple Owls 54 – 6 respectively. Stepping up for Williamson against Temple was Michael Kling (FR/New Castle, DE) and Chase Whartnaby (JR/Chichester, PA) both wrestlers winning by Technical Fall. Kling with an 20-0 win and Whartnaby secured his Tech Fall blanking his opponent 18 – 0. In the final match against the Owls from Temple, the trio of Ainsley Doyle (SR/Wilmington, DE), Daniel Tommarelli (SR/Springfield, PA) and Talon Pisarchuk (JR/Bensalem, PA) put the match out of reach with each wrestler recording pins for the Mechanics.
Williamson takes on Rowan Thursday night at the Restall Sports Center starting at 7:00 pm. Prior to the match, Coach Frank will recognize the six seniors.
