Big First Half Run Propels Mechanics to Win
Trailing early, Williamson goes on first half run and never looks back in 83-56 win over Patrick Henry
Williamson started slowly on Saturday, scoring just 2 points in the first four minutes. The finally took their first lead at 11-9 with 14:35 left in the half and turned it on from there, using a 45-21 run to close the half, on the way to an 83-56 win over Patrick Henry College on Saturday.
Rob Whiley led the Mechanic attack with 27 points, six assists and four rebounds, while Matt Gallagher (SR/Avon Grove, PA) (13) and Jack Grace (SR/Ridley, PA) (12) also hit double figures for Williamson. Vagiba Donzo (FR/Chester, PA) also chipped in with eight points.
The win snaps a 3-game losing steak for Williamson and moves them to 5-12 on the year. They jump right back into action Monday night as they take on Delaware County Community College on the road in a 7:00 P.M. start at FiDonce Gym, 215 East 21st Street, Chester PA 19013 (Entrance on Potter St.)
