[Baseball] Errors Cost Hawks Friday Split with #16 HIU

FULLERTON, Calif. – San Diego Christian dropped both ends of Friday's doubleheader at #16 Hope International falling 5-13 in game one and 2-4 in a tightly contested game two.

GAME 1

The Hawks fought back from an early 5-0 deficit, posting four of their own in the top of the third. After Billy Strohm's single would advance Jalani Brown to third, a balk would allow Brown to get a free pass home. Johnny Radomskiy would single to drive in Strohm and a Davin Burroughs homer would plate two.

Although they had nine total hits in the game to HIU's 13, the Hawk offense would not be able to string together any hits to challenge the Royals.

GAME 2

An evenly matched game two saw the Hawks score two first-inning runs and remain very much in the game the entire time.

San Diego Christian offensive powerhouse, Alec Arnone, drove in himself and Johnny Radomskiy with a first-inning blast.

SDCC was able to match the Royals in hits, but costly errors sealed the team's fate. Allowing only 1 earned run to the Royals 2, defensive miscues certainly were the difference in the game.
