[Men's Basketball] O'Campo's Game-High 22 Points not Enough in Loss to No. 21 HIU

SAN DIEGO – Josh O'Campo scored a game-high 22 points but it wasn't enough as the Hawks dropped a 69-49 decision to No. 21 Hope International on Saturday.

The Royals were able to force 30 SDCC turnovers and turn those in to 33 points.

O'Campo scored eight of the Hawks' first 10 points, including back-to-back triples to start the scoring for SDCC. His free throws gave the Hawks a 10-8 lead with 15:24 remaining in the half. The Royals then went on a 16-3 run in a span of eight minutes for a double-digit lead. They added a bucket at the buzzer to head into the locker room up 39-19.

SDCC was able to get within 16 points four separate times but the Royals looked to be too strong on both sides of the ball to keep their large lead. They lead by as much as 29 points with 5:09 remaining.

The Hawks will have two more games of the regular season left next week. SDCC travels to Vanguard on Thursday before hosting Life Pacific on Saturday in the finale.
