[Women's Basketball] Hatcliff Snags Second GPAC Weekly Honor

0 4

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the first weekly basketball honor for the 2022 calendar year and Doane's Mak Hatcliff (FR/Beatrice, Neb.) has received the women's honor after a big week on the road. This marks the second time that Hatcliff has earned the honor this season.

Last week at Waldorf University, Hatcliff scored 28 points in helping the Tigers to a 68-56 win. She was 11-of-17 from the field and pulled in seven rebounds to go with three steals. In the second game of the week, she led the Tigers with 24 points at No. 22 Concordia as the team lost 76-70 in overtime. Hatcliff added eight rebounds and three steals in the game.

Hatcliff moved into fifth on the Doane freshman scoring charts and sits 12 points behind fellow Beatrice native Hanah (Barnard) Baumgartner. On the freshman charts, she also sits in a tie for 6th with 45 steals and is sitting on the edge of the Top 10 in rebounds and assists. Only two players in program history currently rank in the Top 10 of all four categories.

Doane returns to action with a pair of road games again this week as they take on Midland University at 6 PM on Wednesday, January 5, and Briar Cliff at 2 PM on Saturday, January 8.
