Atlanta Braves (2-0) at Los Angeles Dodgers (0-2)
RHP Charlie Morton (0-0) vs. RHP Walker Buehler (0-0)
Game 3 – 5:08 p.m. ET – Dodger Stadium – TBS
The NLCS heads back to the west coast. Down two games to none, the Los Angeles Dodgers send Walker Buehler to the mound in a must-win game for the NL Wild Card winners. No win is guaranteed in the playoffs and the Braves are sending their best with Charlie Morton toeing the rubber.
The Braves took Games 1 and 2 in Atlanta, breaking a tie in the bottom of the ninth each time. In Game 1 Ozzie Albies singled and stole second base with one out. Austin Riley then singled off of Dodger reliever Blake Trienen to score Albies and give Atlanta the 3-2 victory.
In Game 2, the Dodgers blew a 4-2 lead in the eighth inning. Manager Dave Roberts put in starter Julio Urias in the eighth inning. He promptly gave up two runs on three hits. The Braves walked off again, this time facing Dodger relievers Brusdar Graterol and Kenley Jansen with Eddie Rosario driving in the winning run. The Dodgers were held to four hits, Trea Turner went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts.
Buehler last faced the Braves on August 31. He went seven innings, allowing two runs, and struck out five. Morton was the opposing pitcher that game. He went six innings, allowed one run, and struck out eight batters. The Dodgers would win that game 3-2.
