Kevin Costner Makes Special Appearance at Field of Dreams Baseball Game

The MLB paid tribute to the movie Field of Dreams with a special game last night!

The New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox faced off in the first “Field of Dreams” baseball game on Thursday night (August 12) at a special field in Dyersville, Iowa.

Kevin Costner, who starred in the Oscar-nominated movie, made an appearance at the game and watched from the stands.

“Thirty years ago, on the other side of that corn, we filmed a movie that stood the test of time,” Kevin told the crowd. “Tonight, thanks to the enduring impact that little movie had, it’s allowed us to come here, again, on a field that Major League Baseball made. We come to see a first place White Sox play the mighty Yankees, in a field that was once corn. It’s perfect.”

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred says that they’re already planning more games at the Field of Dreams. Kevin said, “You don’t mess with a winning streak. It does feel like all of the teams are going to want to touch this.”
