Morning news and notes for Wednesday, April 14, 2021
Bieber v. Giolito was decided last night by the anticlimactic 10th inning ManfredRunner, after nine scoreless innings put up by both teams. But they weren’t the only two pitchers who were dominant last night. Let’s watch a few of them before we get to the news (and notes) ...

Around baseball
• Terry Francona spoke about the racism Yu Chang faced following his Monday throwing error, and was dead on. It would be nice to hear from some other people in the organization more often, but “Errors are part of the game, but ignorance and racism, they shouldn’t be anywhere,” would have been hard to top.
• Akil Baddoo went deep again.
• Shohei Ohtani went deep again. He hasn’t pitched much, but is absolutely red hot at the plate.
• James Paxton is officially done for the year. Sucks that the dude just can’t stay healthy.
