This week’s cryptoquote shows that attitudes about attitudes aren’t necessarily generational — or even player vs. manager.

But first, the answer to last week’s Cryptosoxery, a literal voice from the past:

Not sure what Harry would have said about interest in innings that just end in the middle, but otherwise he seems spot on.

Also spot on was another — not literal — voice from the past, in this week’s quiz )encryption as usual thanks to the magic machine at wordles.com).

For those new to the game, cryptoquotes are simple letter substitutions, same subbing throughout the quote...and H for a Y, a P for an R, etc. You solve by looking for the most common letters — start with “e” and then play Wheel of Fortune, then by finding common words or letter formations.

One warning this week — the “ED” for the speaker’s first name just turned out that way in the encryption. His name isn’t really Ed.
