Sports leagues won’t jump the vaccine queue; Where did Gleyber Torres’s power go?; The Padres’ next moves

Evan Drellich | The Athletic $: The 2020 season was able to finish because MLB processed tens of thousands of COVID-19 tests at its own lab, but such an option doesn’t exist with the vaccine. With limited supplies, MLB and other professional sports leagues are going to have to wait until public health officials allow vaccination of players and other sports personnel.

Tom Krosnowski | Pinstripe Alley: Gleyber Torres slugged 38 dingers in 2019, but in the shortened 2020 season, Torres only hit three. Was Torres’s power loss just a small sample blip in a uniquely challenging season or did a change in approach sap his strength?

Steve Adams | MLB Trade Rumors: After acquiring Ha-seong Kim, Blake Snell and Yu Darvish, the Padres aren’t done adding to their roster this offseason. According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Padres are now focused on bringing back Kirby Yates and Jurickson Profar.
