[Women's Basketball] Kylie Wroblewski named CCAC Player of the Week
CHICAGO --- Despite just missing out on averaging a double-double during the week of Nov. 30-Dec. 6, that did not deter St. Ambrose University's Kylie Wroblewski (Bettendorf, Iowa) from claiming Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week commendations. The announcement was made on Tuesday morning by the league office.
Wroblewski fell one rebound short of averaging the double-double finishing with scoring and rebounding marks of 23.5 and 9.5, respectively, in a pair of wins for the Fighting Bees last week. The 6-2 sophomore forward also shot a strong .630 from the field (17-of-27), while converting four three-pointers in eight attempts and 9-of-11 free throws.
Wroblewski was near-perfect in a 94-49 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange University (Mo.) on Wednesday, where she made nine of her 10 shots from the field – including both three-point attempts – and was 3-of-4 at the free throw line for a total of 23 points. She also contributed five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal.
Three days later, Wroblewski did author a single-game double-double with her 24-point, 14-rebound performance in an 88-53 victory opposite Graceland University (Iowa) on Saturday.
With its two wins last week, St. Ambrose remained unbeaten on the season at 3-0.
