[Men's Indoor Track & Field] Lancer Track Team Shine in Debut

Seward, NE -- The Lancer Track teams had arguably their most successful season opener in school history this weekend at Concordia University. The small squad came away with 4 national qualifying marks. The meet started on Friday with the multi's starting competition. Stephanie Faulhaber and Ashinee George competed in their first-ever pentathlon and the ladies finished 6th and 11th out of 17 competitors. Faulhaber narrowly missed qualifying in the 60m hurdles as well as the overall pentathlon. The men's heptathlon continues to be a strength of this Mount Marty squad. Returners Seth Wiebelhaus (JR/Fordyce, NE) and Mason Schleis (SO/Shelby, NE) continued where they left off last year and placed 2nd and 3rd at the meet. Their point totals of 4552 and 4506 were about 300 points higher than their first meet last year. Those marks are currently 2ndand 3rd in the NAIA.
