[FRND] 17 Falcon Athletic Teams Earn NAIA Scholar Team Award
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – An astounding 17 Friends University Falcon athletic programs have received the prestigious NAIA Scholar Team award, the national office released yesterday (Sept. 15), as part of its annual NAIA National Awards Day.
To be eligible for this honor, the team must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade-point-average that includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
"We are proud of our student-athletes, they work hard in the classroom," said Dr. Rob Ramseyer, Friends University Director of Athletics. "They are also provided great support by our faculty and Academic Dean's office. Special thanks to Dr. Preston Todd, Ashley Borniger and the entire Academic Resource Center staff for all their hard work in supporting our students. We strive to be known as a university that prioritizes academics, which makes this type of recognition such a great honor."
The 17 NAIA Scholar Team recipients rank second in the KCAC, just one shy of Ottawa University.
"I am proud of the academic success displayed by our student-athletes," said Todd, Friends University Associate Academic Dean. "We understand this achievement was earned by hard work and sacrifice.
