Game Thread #3: A’s vs. Angels (2)

For the first time this season (I think?), our overflow Game Thread is not a Rally Thread. The A’s have the lead!
Angels starter Shohei Ohtani did. not. record. an. out. Six straight batters reached base, Oakland scored five runs, and that’s the highlight of the game so far.
Unfortunately, Mike Trout is on the Angels, and he launched a three-run dinger when Mike Fiers tried to sneak a 3-0 fastball down the pipe. Whoops. The Halos put together another rally in the 5th to knock out Fiers, and Trout nearly did it again off Yusmeiro Petit, but it fell short for “only” a sac fly.
Bottom of the 5th, and it’s 5-4 A’s!
