[Men's Indoor Track and Field] Diaz named AAC Field Athlete of the Week
MONTREAT, N.C. – Montreat College freshman Israel Diaz has been named Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the first weekly honor for Diaz this indoor season.
The Iverness, Fl. native had a huge performance at the VMI Winter Relays this past weekend where he won the high jump event.
His height of 2.04 meters set a new school record, and is an NAIA 'A' Qualifying mark. Diaz ranks 11th in the NAIA in the event.
The Cavs return to action at the end of the week to compete in the AAC Track & Field Championships at the JDL FastTrack in Winston-Salem, N.C.
