[Wrestling] Three wrestlers place at Newberry Open

NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Lindsey Wilson wrestling team competed at the Newberry Open on Saturday afternoon where three different LWC wrestlers produced podium finishes.

Bryce Hoffman opened his tournament with three straight 3-2 decision victories. He first defeated Parker Grizzle of Limestone College and then defeated Billy Christie of Newberry College before taking down Alonzo Davis of the University of Florida. Hoffman would then fall in the championship bracket semifinals to Riley Smucker of Appalachian State on an 8-0 major decision. He got back in the win column with a 3-1 decision victory over Kyle Daley of Limestone before taking fourth place when he lost in the first top-bottom period on a 4-3 decision to Kyle Daley.
