[Men's Basketball] Kerr named CCAC Player of the Week

CHICAGO --- Keying last week's upset of NAIA No. 22-ranked Calumet College of St. Joseph, St. Ambrose University's John Kerr (Lake Villa, Ill.) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending Dec. 23, it was announced by the league office Monday morning.

Kerr's 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists helped the Bees hand Calumet St. Joseph its first loss of the season in an 89-76 conference affair last Wednesday. Coming into the contest, the Crimson Wave had opened the season with 12 straight victories.

Kerr, a 6-7 sophomore forward, propelled St. Ambrose to a 47-33 lead at the break by scoring 15 of his team-high 20 points in the game's first 20 minutes.

With the win, the Bees improved to 8-5 on the season.
