[Men's Soccer] Sosa, Ismail Garcia Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team

WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University seniors Leo Sosa (SR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Omar Ismail Garcia (SR/Valdvino, Spain) have each earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches NAIA All-Plains Region team, the organization has announced. Sosa is a first-team selection, while Ismail Garcia received second-team recognition.

A first-team All-KCAC honoree, Sosa anchored the Falcons' offensive attack this season, scoring a career-high 21 goals along with three assists.

Sosa's 21 scores ranked second in the KCAC and he was tied for first in the league with seven game-winning goals on the season.

With Sosa serving as the spark to the offensive attack, Ismail Garcia, also a first-team all-conference pick, served as the facilitator, dishing out a team-best 13 assists that put him second in the league in helpers.

The Falcons advanced to the KCAC semifinals and finished third in the conference with a 9-3 league mark, along with a 12-7 overall record.
