MADISON, S.D. (Nov. 27, 2018)—The Dakota State University indoor track & field teams officially begin their 2018-19 season on Friday afternoon with their first of the five trips to Brookings, S.D. The Trojans compete in the NCAA Division I meet South Dakota State Holiday Open at Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex (1447 Jackrabbit Ave.), the home of 2019 and 2020 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
The Trojans compete its only track meet of the 2018 season before swinging back in full action in 2019 with five regular-season meets, a conference championship meet and the national meet. Friday's meet will features schools from all levels, ranging from NAIA to NCAA Division I.
Dakota State will also be sending seven runners to the Fremont (Neb.) Half-Marathon meet on Saturday. The half-marathon meet gives the runners an opportunity to produce a national qualifying mark in the full marathon for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in May.
