[Tennis] Doane Tennis Receives ITA Academic Honors
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced the annual All-Academic Team and Individuals for the 2017-18 academic year. Doane tennis was recognized on both lists this year.
The Tiger women were named an All-Academic Team with seven players earning All-Academic individual honors. To be recognized as a team, the varsity squad must have a grade point average (GPA) over 3.25 for the academic year.
Individuals selected to the All-Academic list must be a varsity member while holding a 3.50 GPA during the 2017-18 academic year. Receiving honors for the women this year were Brianna Kempel (Lincoln, Neb.), Carissa Moore (Crete, Neb.), Erin Nielsen (Sterling, Colo.), Makayla Rice (Lincoln, Neb.), Alanna Weir (Hershey, Neb.), Haley Yohe (Wilber, Neb.), and Ashley Zaeske (Westminster, Colo.).
The Tiger men placed two players on the All-Academic list as well. Receiving recognition this year were Elliott Abromeit (Lawrence, Kan.) and Kenneth Weber (Herrin, Ill.).
