The April 23 meeting of SABR's Rabbit Maranville Chapter will feature an all-star lineup of speakers.
Leading off: Joe Morgan, the "Morgan Magic" manager of the Red Sox from 1988 through 1991. Morgan, still living in his native Walpole, has been enshrined in the Red Sox Hall of Fame.
Next up: Bill Ballou, a UMass graduate who has covered the Red Sox since 1987 as a sportswriter for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. Batting third: William Ryczek, author of Baseball on the Brink: The Crisis of 1968.
SABR meetings take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Bear's Den, lower level of the Campus Center at Western New England University, 1215 Wilbraham Road, Springfield. The meetings are open to the public, with a $5 registration fee.
