[Men's Tennis] Tennis Drops Season Opener
On a cold and dreary day, the results of Williamson's first tennis match of the year proved to be almost as cold and dreary, as they fell to national power Brookdale Community College by a score of 9-0.
Williamson dropped their match at Third doubles quickly, but the First doubles team of Chris Smith (JR/Tullahoma, TN) and John Coleman (JR/Chichester, PA) battled hard before falling, 8-4. The Second doubles team of Stephen Nemeth (FR/Piscataway, NJ) and Devin Fox (JR/Aston, PA) had a solid start to their collegiate career as a team, as they took their opponents to a tie breaker, before falling by a score of 8-7.
The Mechanics didn't fare any better in their six singles matches, as each Mechanic lost in straight sets. Playing at Fifth singles, Devin Fox raced out to an early first set lead but could not hold it.
Williamson drops to 0-1 on the year. The take on Penn State Brandywine on both Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 P.M. and then take on Bucks County College at 10:00 A.M. next Saturday.
