[Softball] Trevecca | 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame | Chelsea Bailey Bradley

NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University will induct five new members into its athletic hall of fame on Wednesday, April 25th at the annual Trevecca Hall of Fame Dinner in the President's Dining Room. The dinner is followed by the Third Annual TROJY Awards Show in the Boone Convocation Center.

 

With these five additions, the Trevecca Athletic Hall of Fame started in 1993, will have 74 members.  

 

The 2018 Trevecca Hall of Fame Class includes

Chelsea Bailey Bradley – Softball (Read)

Curtis Lewis – Basketball

Rone' Phelps Russell – Softball

Mindy Seigenthaler Norris – Golf

Michael Johnson – Meritorious Service

 

Our introduction of the 2018 class begins with Chelsea Bailey Bradley.

 

Chelsea Bailey Bradley played four years for the Trojan softball program, completing her all-American career in 2009. During her storied career, she earned numerous awards including being named second-team NAIA All-American.

 

The 2006 season was her first playing for Trevecca and then Trojan coach Ernie Reynolds. Bradley started with a .375 batting average and ended with a .393 career batting average. Her final season, 2009, was the first for current Trevecca softball coach Ben Tyree.  

 

When her four-year career ended she owned nine Trevecca records. She owned the record for runs (208), hits (274), triples (17), and stolen bases (133). She also claimed the season records for hits (96), triples (8), and stolen bases (50). Not only did Bradley set Trevecca records, but she also broke an NAIA record with a hit in 30 consecutive games.

 

The highly decorated Bradley was named to the second team NAIA All-American team in 2007 and an honorable mention All-American in 2008. She made the first team NFCA/Louisville Slugger team in 2009. She was a three-time NAIA All-Region team selection. In 2009 she was named the Adidas Golden Shoe team for stolen bases as well as TranSouth Player of the Year (2009). In 2006 she was named the TranSouth Freshman of the Year.

 

She led the program to three NAIA National Tournaments with three NAIA Region and TranSouth championships. At the NAIA National tournament here teams reached the Final Eight twice and the Final Three once. During her sophomore season, the team finished 59-11 and her four teams combined for a 180-54 record.

NAIA HIT STREAK RECORD

Set the NAIA record for consecutive games with a hit (30) as a senior. Bailey additionally had a 25-game hit streak as a sophomore and a 23-game hit streak as a junior.
