[Women's Basketball] Tigers head to break with big 75-64 win

0

Georgetown College women's basketball is all about taking steps forward and Saturday's show down with Point Park University gave a perspective on this goal. The Tigers (5-8) lost by four in Pennsylvania more than a month ago. However, Saturday GC stayed composed in big moments for a huge 75-64 win.

"They made runs, but we didn't let that rattle us as it has in the past," said Georgetown's Kennedy Flynn. "We stayed our course. Handled the pressure and got the job done. In the past we would have folded in moments late in the game and not be able to get back into a rhythm."

The Irvine, Ky. native led all scorers with 17 points, including 9-of-10 from the foul line. Another steady presence was freshman point guard Markizjah Mimms - 14 points (5-of-8 from the field, 3-of-4 from three-point) and five assists.
