[Women's Golf] ONU finishes fourth at UW-Whitewater Fall Classic, three Tigers place in top 20

MADISON, Wis. — Three individuals led the way for the Olivet Nazarene University women's golf team at the UW-Whitewater Fall Classic this weekend. Mackenzie Mehaffey (JR/Winchester, Ind.), Julie Hogan (SR/Pontiac, Ill.) and Stephanie Eby (JR/Lemont, Ill.) all placed in the top 20 and helped the Tigers finish fourth out of 17 programs, only 13 strokes back of second. All four times Olivet has competed this season they have finished in the top five or better.

A total of 99 golfers played in the 36-hole, two-day event at the par-72, 5,807-yard course, Blackhawk Country Club. ONU finished fourth with a team score of 698 (345-353 +122). UW-Whitewater won the event with a score of 640 (319-321, +64). Wheaton College (Ill.) shot a score of 685 (334-351, +109) to finish second. Carthage College (Wis.) came in third with a score of 688 (334-354, +112).

The Tigers had five golfers in the top 20. Mackenzie Mehaffey shot back-to-back 84's to finish tied for eighth with a 168 (84-84, +24). Julie Hogan as in fourth place after day one and shot a 169 (80-89, +25) to finish tied for 11th. Stephanie Eby came in tied for 17th (88-84, +28). Bailey Fleming (JR/Greenfield, Ind.) shot a 193 (93-100, +49) and finished tied for 60th. Hannah Ogden (FR/McHenry, Ill.) finished tied for 64th with a 195 (99-96, +51).

ONU will play next weekend in the University of St. Francis (Ind.) Cougar Fall Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29-30.
