[Men's Soccer] Brescia Tabbed to Finish Sixth in the River States Conference

OWENSBORO, KY – The Brescia Men's Soccer team picked to finish sixth place in the 2017 River States Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

A top six finish would be welcomed by the Brescia Men's Soccer team, but they are setting their goals for a higher finish for the 2017 season. With a top six finish in conference play, the Bearcats would seal a third consecutive bid to the conference tournament under Head Coach Will Van Nostrand.

The Bearcats are coming off a 9-8 season, finishing in a tied for 4th place in the River States Conference last season. They return 12 players from the 2016 season, who statistically contributed 40 goals and 36 assists during the 2016 season, highlighted by 2x All-Conference forward Ricardo Majano, All-Conference midfielder Kerby Edme and All-Conference goalkeeper Jacob Stanley. Other key players returning for Brescia are Jean Laurent, Doodlyn Colas, Luan Yoshida, Karim Ndoye and Edgar Estrada.

"While I'm happy to see us (Brescia) be selected inside the top six, we know it doesn't really hold any weight in regards to our future. What matters is what we accomplish on the field. That's what's going to dictate our destiny, that's going to dictate where we finish in conference play," stated Head Coach Will Van Nostrand.

Brescia will open up play with an exhibition vs Spalding University on August 19th, kick-off at 4:30pm.
