FREMONT, Neb. – Playing shorthanded due to injuries, Midland University gave top-ranked Minot State University all they could handle as the teams opened the new year with a two-game series in Fremont. The Warriors fought hard but ultimately fell 6-2 in the opener on Friday night. The following night, the teams needed overtime to decide a winner. The Beavers prevailed, scoring in the final minute of the extra period on the power play, escaping with a 3-2 win.
