ONEIDA, Tenn. - Payton Hoop clubbed a grand slam to highlight a five-run sixth inning rally and lift 22nd-ranked University of the Cumberlands to a 7-4 win over the University of Rio Grande and preventing the RedStorm from posting a sweep of its final two games in the Bear Creek Softball Invitational, Sunday afternoon, at Bear Creek Park.
Earlier in the day, Rio Grande posted an 8-6 win in nine innings over Lawrence Tech (Mich.) University and finished the season-opening weekend at 3-2.
