MLB News: Braves Sign Charlie Morton
The Braves have signed free agent starter Charlie Morton to a one-year, $15 million deal according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
Morton, 37, is coming off a down year with Tampa Bay after making two consecutive All-Star appearances in 2018 and 2019 with Houston and the Rays, respectively (3.09 ERA, 140 ERA+ over 63 combined starts; 4.74 ERA, 90 ERA+ in 2020).
Morton was drafted by the Braves and made his major league debut with the organization back in 2008.
The right-hander joins recently signed Drew Smyly in the Braves rotation.
