Jung turns back rally to lead Maple Hill baseball to victory

Allowing a pair of singles on 0-2 pitches to start the seventh inning Friday afternoon could have been the downfall for many young pitchers in a playoff game. Matt Jung is not a typical younger pitcher and the Maple Hill sophomore right-hander looked more annoyed than bothered by the mounting rally by Warrensburg.
"I definitely wanted to finish it," Jung said.
"He has been like that all year. He is tough and he throws strikes," Maple Hill coach Rico Frese said. "With two guys on, we were going to ride him out."
