10 Things to Know – Mississippi State

After four consecutive SEC games away from home, Arkansas returns to the friendly confines of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium to host SEC Western Division foe Mississippi State. Kickoff between the Razorbacks and Bulldogs is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, on ESPN.

10 Things to Know – Mississippi State

1. – When Arkansas takes the field this Saturday, it will mark the team’s first home game in Fayetteville in 35 days (Sept. 16). The Hogs’ away stretch is the second-longest in college football this season, with Coastal Carolina (37 days between home games) having the longest.

2. – Beginning with Mississippi State, Arkansas will play four of its final five regular-season games at Razorback Stadium, including three of its final four SEC contests. This season marks the first time since 1925 that Arkansas has played each of its first four conference games away from home.

3. – QB KJ Jefferson has completed 124-of-188 passes (66.0%) for 1,450 yards and 14 touchdowns while also rushing for 162 yards and a score through seven games this season. Jefferson, who has thrown for at least one touchdown in each of his last 18 games under center, ranks first on Arkansas’ career touchdown responsibility list with 82 (62 passing touchdowns, 20 rushing touchdowns).

4. – LB Jaheim Thomas is the SEC’s leading tackler this season, racking up 69 total stops with 6.5 tackles for loss, including 3.5 sacks. The transfer from Cincinnati has a team-leading five double-digit tackle efforts this year and has six double-digit tackle games for his career.

5. – Through seven games, the Razorback defense has recorded 11 total takeaways, including seven interceptions. Arkansas’ turnover margin (+4) is second-best among all SEC teams this season.

6. – K Cam Little is a perfect 4-for-4 (100%) on 50+ yard field goals this season with makes from 52 yard and 50 yards vs. Texas A&M (Sept. 30), 56 yards at Ole Miss (Oct. 7) and 55 yards at Alabama (Oct. 14). His four made field goals from 50+ yards lead all SEC kickers this season.

7. – K Cam Little owns the Arkansas record for consecutive successful point after attempts with 118, a streak that ranks second among all active FBS kickers. Only Oregon K Camden Lewis (120) has logged more consecutive successful point after attempts.

8. – DL Landon Jackson, who had 3.5 sacks vs. Alabama on Oct. 14, is the first Arkansas defender with 3+ sacks in a game since Chris Smith tallied 3.0 sacks against Southern Miss in 2013. Jackson’s 3.5 sacks are the most sacks by a Razorback defender against Alabama since Antwain Robinson finished with 2.5 sacks against Alabama in 2006. Jackson was named the SEC’s Defensive Lineman of the Week and also earned the Bednarik Award’s National Player of the Week following his dominant performance against the Crimson Tide.

9. – P Max Fletcher had one of the best games of his career vs. Alabama on Oct. 14, booting seven punts for 377 yards with a career best 53.9 average. He pinned the Crimson Tide inside the 20-yard line four times and boomed a career long 70-yard punt. Of his seven punts, four went for 50+ yards, including two for 60+ yards.

10. – KJ Jefferson is one of three quarterbacks in Arkansas history to throw for 7,000+ yards and 60+ touchdowns in their career.
