Morgan City Police investigate shooting
MORGAN CITY, La. (KLFY) – Morgan City Police are investigating a shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon.
According to Morgan City Police, officers responded to the area of Fifth Street near Freret Street just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday regarding shots being fired in the area.
On arrival, officers attempted to initiate a stop on a suspected vehicle when the subject drove away. After a short chase, the subject stopped on Sixth Street near Clothilde Street. The driver was taken into custody pending further investigation.
Investigators with the MCPD Detectives Division and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office located a residence on Fifth Street where the shooting occurred. Another suspect involved was also taken into custody. No injuries are reported at this time.
