Williams honors staff with special British GP Union Jack livery

0 6

Williams Racing will proudly display on its FW46 at this weekend’s British Grand Prix the names of all 1,005 team members in a spectacular Union Jack livery, igniting a series of heartfelt home race celebrations.

The FW46 cars, driven by Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant at Silverstone, will fly the flag in gratitude and admiration for everyone at the team’s Grove HQ, as well as the dedicated members in New York, London, and at the races who are relentlessly working towards the team’s mission of bringing it back to the front of the grid.

The 1,005 names are intricately woven into the red, white, and blue engine cover design, but the striking livery is more than just a design; it is a heartfelt homage to the exceptional teamwork and unwavering resilience the team has demonstrated under pressure this season.

It celebrates the immense human effort and passion that fuel Williams’ journey in Formula 1.

The British outfit’s festivities at its home race will also see 2009 F1 World Champion Jenson Button reunited with his first-ever F1 car, the Williams FW22 from 2000, for a series of demonstration runs.

Away from track, Williams’ fans will have a chance to express their support for their favourite team by converging to the outfit’s London Fan Zone located in Piccadilly Circus right in the heart of the capital from July 2 to 7.

Alex Albon, Logan Sargeant, Team Principal James Vowles, Jenson Button, and Williams Academy F2 Driver Zak O’Sullivan will all appear at the event.

“Silverstone is always one of the highlights of the year and I’m delighted we are thanking our staff as the centrepiece of our home race celebrations,” commented Vowles.

“Williams is transforming from top to bottom so we can fight our way back to the front, and our people and culture will be key to that success.

“It takes extraordinary effort from every individual at the factory and at track to race in Formula 1, and I’m especially proud of the resilience whilst under pressure we have demonstrated so far this year.”
