Simon Martirosyan of Armenia broke an unprecedented record in the 2019 IWF World Weightlifting Championship in Pattaya, Thailand.
The sportsman (w/c 109kg) lifted a 190kg bar in the first snatch exercise. In the second and third attempts, he held above his head 195kg. and 199kg bars, respectively, Armsport.am reports.
Martirosyan thus established the highest ever record in the world weightlifting history.
China’s Yang Zhe came in the second with 187kg.
