In an interview with Tolo News, Mansouri discussed the significance of this victory for both himself and the refugee community. Just a few days prior, he had also achieved a remarkable performance at the Belgium Open, where he earned a silver medal.

The English Open is one of the most prestigious taekwondo competitions globally, this year hosting 585 athletes from various countries in Manchester, England.

Mansoori is a prominent figure in Afghan taekwondo, having previously earned accolades in international competitions. However, due to the recent events in Afghanistan, like many other athletes, he was forced to leave the country.
