Afghan Taekwondo star Rezaee appointed head coach of Nepal national team

0 25

The Afghanistan Taekwondo Federation has announced that Seyed Hassan Rezaee, a former national taekwondo team member, has been appointed as the head coach of the Nepal national team.

On Tuesday, June 4, the federation congratulated Rezaee on his new position in Nepal and wished him success.

Rezaee is one of the country’s successful athletes, having won national and international medals in world championship competitions and other overseas events in recent years, contributing significantly to Afghanistan’s sporting achievements.

Previously, Rohullah Nikpai, an Olympic medal-winning taekwondo athlete from Afghanistan, was also appointed as the head coach of the New Zealand national taekwondo team.

Despite the notable achievements of Afghan athletes like Rezaee and Nikpai, the current dire situation in Afghanistan has led to a significant lack of attention and support for these athletes.

The country’s instability has hindered their training and development and forced many to seek opportunities abroad to continue their careers.

The challenges Afghan athletes face are compounded by the limited resources and infrastructure available for sports in the country.

This neglect has resulted in a talent drain, where skilled athletes and coaches are compelled to leave Afghanistan for better prospects, depriving the nation of their expertise and contributions to the sports community.
