Woodley warns Rogan over CM Punk criticism: ‘Watch your mouth’

Tyron Woodley thinks UFC commentator Joe Rogan is being a little too harsh on CM Punk.

CM Punk was recently the subject of discussion on Joe Rogan’s podcast interview with Kelly Slater, and the longtime UFC commentator was brutally honest about Punk’s brief stint in the Octagon.

“He’s a real good guy, but he doesn’t have talent,” Rogan said of Punk on the Joe Rogan Experience (h/t Virginia Glaze of Dexerto).

Rogan, who has a background in Taekwondo and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, went on to compare Punk to YouTube celebrity Logan Paul, claiming that Paul ‘actually knows how to fight’ and is ‘way better’ than the ex-WWE star.

This didn’t sit well with reigning UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, who trained with Punk at Roufusport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Speaking on TMZ’s Hollywood Beatdown, Woodley joked that Rogan ought to watch his mouth when talking about his friend and teammate.

“Watch your mouth Joe,” Woodley said, per BJPenn.com’s Chris Taylor. “First thing I have to stand on Joe Rogan’s stones. Come up off my homie CM Punk. You got smoke with him, you got smoke with me. So, watch your mouth.”

Punk, real name Phil Brooks, was dominated and outclassed in both his fights under the UFC banner. With no background in combat sports, the 40-year-old looked completely out of his element and was unable to mount any significant offense against his two opponents. The professional wrestler was submitted by Mickey Gall in 2016, and dropped a lackluster unanimous decision to Mike Jackson at UFC 225.

UFC president Dana has stated that Punk will never fight in the organization again.
