Swell on the fade but waves to be had
Hello Friends,
We’re back to more approachable conditions this morning. The 0700 MHL data showed 1.8 metres of 11-second mainly dead south swell, along with some left over east energy. Wind was coming from the west at 7-11 kts and skies promise to be sunny all day long. Tide is currently running out to the 0.4 metre low at 1205. Air was 13°C but water’s still a pleasant 22°C.
While it’s much smaller and dropping, the swell should be around all day and still surfable through Friday. If the long range predictions are correct, we’ll then get a fresh south pulse on the weekend.
Go well and know your limits you folk who are just starting out on your surfing life.
Forecast issued at 4:00 am EST on Tuesday 14 April 2026.
